The great view reminds us of the Black Forest in Germany (where we lived a couple of years) but the view from the tops of hills reminds us that we’re only 10-15 kms away from the sea! And this is perfect and highly appreciated by us because we lived for most of our lifetime in Hamburg with its big river Elbe, 100 Kms away from the North Sea.

Just staying for 2 nights. Very nice place, awesome view and the smartest dog I have ever met! I went onto the Kaihu Farm walk with Buster – thanks a lot.
And I went to Waipoua Forest and Trounson Kauri Park – What a difference.
Have made the guided night walk, have seen many Kauri trees and 1 Kiwi!!

Very cosy hostel for a one night’s stay!
When the rain stopped we went for a bush walk with Buster and that was amazing. What a lovely special dog!

Fantastic hostel! Andre was an amazing host and tour guide.
This was my first night in New Zealand and I couldn’t imagine it being any better.
